Project Profile

Leo: The Dog

Leo is a quadruped robot I developed as  part of my Electromechanical System Design Course. Powered by a Raspberry Pi 4 with ROS, Leo can be manually controlled via Bluetooth or operate semi-autonomously using voice commands processed through a speech-to-text system. It features dynamic gaits for walking, standing, and dancing, and interacts with users through the ChatGPT API. This project became my first conference paper and was accepted for presentation at the ASME IMECE 2024 Undergrad Expo.

Software: ROS, Python, ChatGPT API, Vosk Speech Recognition

Status: Completed

Awards: 2nd Runner Up | Inter-University Project Showcase Competition organized by Mechanical Engineering Associaton, BUET

Model of a Cross-Flow Cooling Tower with PET Fill

As part of my Thermofluid System Design course, I contributed to designing a sustainable cross-flow induced draft cooling tower aimed at efficient heat removal. We used eco-friendly fill materials, repurposing PET plastic bottles and jute fiber to reduce environmental impact. The system was evaluated for performance metrics such as temperature range, cooling load, and effectiveness. This project focused on enhancing the cooling tower’s efficiency while promoting sustainability in both design and material selection.

Software: SolidWorks, Python

Status: Completed

GreenDrive: An Energy-Efficient EV Charging Solution with Renewables

As part of our renewable energy innovation project, GreenDrive aims to optimize electric vehicle (EV) charging systems by integrating graphene-based batteries with renewable energy resources (RERs) such as solar and wind. This solution leverages Jellyfish Search Optimization (JSO) to ensure optimal placement and scaling of EV charging stations within a microgrid.
